We are Simon, Sarah & Daisy Redman, first generation family farmers based in a rural location 5 miles from the village of Barrhill, on the South Ayrshire/Dumfries & Galloway border.

We farm traditional & native breeds. We have a herd of Galloway cattle, and a herd of rare Whitebred Shorthorn cattle. Our sheep are predominately Herdwick’s.

We own 200 acres of land directly around our steading where our shepherds hut is located, and rent a further 500 acres from Scottish Wildlife Trust and private landlords nearby.

As we are surrounded by forestry this limits our ability to extend our stocking numbers so diversification was our only option in order for the farm to be future-proof and sustainable for the next generation.

Our aim is to provide traditional Shepherds Hut accommodation nestled in a rural setting, away from the hustle & bustle of daily life. We want to be able to share this area that we are lucky enough to call our home.
